Welcome Passionate Cook Anna Alexander

Anna Alexander

I’m “the cook” in the family. Not the only cook, but when it comes to holiday dinners, I’m the one up to my elbows in gravy and chopped vegetables. Last Christmas I spent three hours in the kitchen basting the ham, cooking the stuffing and roasting parsnips. That’s why I love desserts that are easy and can be made the day before.

A component of my Lip Lickin’ Lemon Tartlets found in the Passionate Cooks cookbook is the lemon curd. Five ingredients that can be cooked ahead of time and turned into many different desserts. One of my favorite dishes that uses lemon curd is trifle. A trifle is a layered dessert and when you make it in a glass dish, it’s beautiful as well.

The night before your special meal cut up an angel food or pound cake, homemade or store bought, and layer it in a glass dish with the lemon curd, whipped cream and fresh fruit. Want more flavor? Add Grand Marnier or vanilla extract to the whipped cream. Cover the dish and set it in the refrigerator overnight. That’s it!

Besides celebrating the release of the Passionate Cooks book, I am also rejoicing in the release of the latest installment in the Heroes of Saturn series, Hero Unleashed, from Ellora’s Cave. The heroine owns a restaurant and night club. If her chefs make lemon curd, I think she would be making a dessert of the more adult nature. Hmmm…that is a thought.

Blurb of Hero Unleashed
Princess Amaryllis should have been sad to be exiled from her home on the Saturn moon, but on Earth she finds freedoms she never imagined existed. She embraces her new home with big, open-mouthed kisses and establishes herself as a prominent business woman catering to the human’s most intimate desires.

When the former head of her father’s guard enters her domain, he not only rouses old insecurities but also a burning desire to see him lose the formal constraints and succumb to the promise in his command.

Lucian Kilsgaard was a warrior without a mission until he received word that an assassin had been sent to ensure the exiled princess does not return to reclaim the throne. He goes to warn the princess and instead of the unconfident, impulsive girl he remembers, he finds a bold temptress. How can he protect her when all he wants is to sink into her softness? He vows the line between protector and lover will never be crossed, yet Amaryllis will test his resolve until he takes exactly what he needs.

Author Bio
Anna Alexander’s literary world changed at age thirteen when a friend gave her Kathleen E. Woodiwiss’ A Rose in Winter. With her mind thoroughly blown, Anna decided that one day she too would become a romance novelist. With Hugh Jackman’s abs and Christopher Reeve’s blue eyes as inspiration, she loves spinning tales about superheroes finding love.

The Cloudy skies over her Pacific Northwest home give her plenty of opportunity to indulge in her passions, which are reading, writing and snuggling with a steaming cup of Irish coffee. Now if she could only find a hot Irishman to go with it, then life would be perfect.
